What is EXION BODY?
‘The versatile body solution for Skin & Localized Fat using Simultaneous Monopolar RF, Targeted Ultrasound and Active Cooling.
EXION™ Body for skin rejuvenation is a versatile body solution that addresses localized fat deposits and skin laxity in all skin types.
It uses a patented combination of monopolar radiofrequency (RF) and targeted ultrasound (US) to boost collagen and hyaluronic acid production while melting fat.
The combination of RF energy and targeted ultrasound induces fat cell apoptosis (cell death), reducing the fat layer in hard-to-reach areas. Cooling is used to enhance comfort. Ultrasound energy can also help to disrupt the fat cells and make them more susceptible to the effects of the RF energy.
Active cooling protects the skin but cells are not cooled to the degree of apoptosis due to paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) seen in patients who have used cooling as a method to induce fat cell death.

How does it address skin laxity?
The Exion Body using deep subdermal heating induces contraction of the extracellular matrix which results in rapid skin tightening. It targets the most active fibroblasts located at deep reticular dermis.
The fibroblasts respond with increased HA production along with collagenesis and elastogenesis
How does it reduce fat?
The active cooling process protects the skin and allows for increasing the temperature in the fat tissue to levels leading to fat cell apoptosis or permanent cell death. The RF energy heats the fat tissue up to 45°C, which can causes the fat apoptosis Cells are broken down and eliminated by the body’s natural processes. The fat layer is reduced after several treatments.
