Laser hair removal uses a combination of heat and energy to destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around it. The LightPod Neo laser offers patients a uniquely pain-free and gentle way to get rid of any unwanted hair. Most patients who have been treated by other lasers say that being treated with the LightPod Neo is much gentler and more pleasant. During laser hair removal, the hair must be in its growing phase in order to be successfully destroyed. To ensure that all hair is effectively removed during the growing phase, you will receive a series of treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. This will successfully ensure maximum results.
Some patients will not respond as well as others. Patients with dark hair will respond best. Those patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) may also have a less than optimal response to laser hair removal.
Patients who are sunburned should wait until the burn subsides. Herpes Simplex Labialis (fever blisters/ cold sores) can be activated by laser treatment, especially on the upper lip, and patients with a tendency for fever blistering can be started on antiviral medication before treatment. You may schedule a consult or consult and treatment on the same day. When you arrive for your consultation, our team will discuss the areas to be treated and different package options. We see excellent results following just one treatment. However, there are usually new hairs that grow that are in a different growth phase or require more than one treatment. We do our best to offer transparent pricing and to find a package that meets your needs. We usually recommend 3-4 treatments that are scheduled 3-4 weeks apart. Occasionally, our patients find that 2 treatments have provided a desirable amount of hair removal but it’s nice to have an additional treatment that was offered at a package rate for any follow up that may be needed.
Packages expire in one year. Leaving you plenty of time to receive any necessary touch-ups.
Once you have decided to pursue hair removal, shave 2 days prior to your visit. This ensures that hairs are visible for more precise removal. On the day of your treatment, do not apply any creams as this will make the process uncomfortable or require us to remove product prior to hair removal.
Your treatment will only be performed by our dedicated and trained team.
When you arrive, we will protect your eyes using laser goggles. You will then be comfortably reclined and your treatment will begin. You will feel warm pulses as we remove your hair. Some people fall asleep during treatment.
After your treatment, we recommend use of a sunscreen on exposed areas that is rated at >35 SPF on for at least 2 weeks. If there is any swelling, ice packs calm the area well.
